2016 Top 50 World’s Wealthiest List Is Out; Check To See How Many Africans Made It!

It’s official!  The list of the top 50 wealthiest people is out.  According to Business Insider, this list was released by Wealth-X, a wealth research firm who tracks the super wealthy.  In order to get on the top 50 list of the world’s wealthiest, your minimum net-worth should be a whopping $14.3 billion. Some notable names on the list include the Koch brothers, the Walton siblings, Michael Bloomberg, Mark Zukerberg. to mention a few.

29 out of 50 of the world’s wealthiest are Americans, more than two-thirds are self-made while more than three-fourths are men.

Only one (!) African in the person of Aliko Dangote made the list.  Aliko is a 58-year old Nigerian business man who started his business at the age of 20 by borrowing money from his uncle for commodity trading, cement and building materials.  He ranked 49th on the list with a networth of $14.3 Billion and tied with an American business man, James Simon.  For complete list of names in descending order, please see below:
